Why Katrina Halili broke up with Kris Lawrence

Katrina Halili opened up about the reason behind her decision to break up with singer Kris Lawrence, whom she parted ways back in January.
In an interview with PEP.ph published on Thursday, the 28-year-old actress explained that she felt that neither of them have matured throughout their 5-year relationship.
"Siguro kailangan lang po naming mag-mature na dalawa. Ako, may kailangan din akong tapusin pa. Siya naman, kailangan din niyang mag-ipon pa," she said.
"Parang hindi kami naggu-grow na dalawa kapag magkasama. Basta, mas okay kami na separate ways," she added.
According to Halili, the two remain in good terms. She said that Lawrence has been a dutiful father and is shouldering some of their daughter's educational expenses.
"Naghahati kami sa mga binabayaran kay Katie (Katrence), like may tutor siya, may school pa," Halili said.
Asked about whether there are any lingering feelings for Lawrence and if there's a chance of the two getting back together, Halili said: "Love as a friend."
She also added that she is not interested in entertaining any suitors at the moment. Instead, she is choosing to focus on her career and Katrence, saying "ayoko rin naman, hindi naman ako naghahanap."

Why Gab feels 'vindicated' after doing 'super selfie' videos

Gab Valenciano never thought that his "super selfies" will inspire popular singer Beyonce, who borrowed some of his moves for the music video of her new single, "7/11".
Beyonce's music video has over 30 million views as of writing.

"Honestly, hindi ko nga akalain na anybody would catch on the super selfie kasi kung panoorin mo [siya] ay kalokohan lang palagi. I think it's something that when you least expect it ay doon darating," Valenciano told reporters on Thursday.
Valenciano started making his "super selfie" videos a year ago when he went to the United States to study.
Recalling the time when he decided to create the videos, he said: "I was just bored -- slightly depressed, in a way. Wala akong magawa. Kumbaga, siyempre coming from a life here tapos going to the States... tapos 'yung mundo ko parang school, gym, school, gym. That kind of rattled me so I felt like I needed to release my frustrations and 'yun na 'yung super selfie."
"Pero who would have known a year ago -- because I started a year ago -- na makakarating ako rito?" he added.
Valenciano said he feels "very vindicated in a way" when his "super selfie" videos became a hit, noting how he has always wanted to "grow as a person and as an artist."
"I feel like there's a reason why I left. I really felt that I wouldn't be able to grow as a person and as an artist dito. Kasi at the end of the day, I am still the son of Gary V. No matter what I do, no matter what I say, no matter what I accomplished here, people will always see me as that," he said, referring to his father, singer-dancer Gary Valenciano, who is dubbed as the Philippines' "Mr. Pure Energy."
"I don't mind that. Wala naman akong problema doon," he quickly added. "But I'm a content creator, I love to create stuff. Hindi ko magagawa 'yon dito because people already know me as a dancer. So I had to step out of the box and go somewhere else to learn, study. I had to go through the motions of my emotions and find myself. And when I did, boom! I feel very vindicated, in a way."
Meanwhile, Valenciano hinted that he has a "big project" that will be soon released online.
"We are all handpicked to be part of this collaboration which will be released worldwide. It will come out online also, different artists," he said.

Vina thankful to be working with Robin again

Singer-actress Vina Morales said she is thankful to be given the chance to work again with her former boyfriend, action star Robin Padilla.
Morales is Padilla's leading lady in the epic film "Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo", which is an official entry to this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
"Wala kaming ginawa kung hindi tawanan. Napagkukuwentuhan namin 'yung nangyayari sa buhay ng isa't isa. So talagang I am thankful na nangyari ito. Long overdue, hindi ba? Ang daming naghihintay," Morales said in a recent interview.
"Siguro ano lang talaga, hindi lang natutuloy ['yung ibang project], siyempre may kaba din sa isa't isa kung paano ang working setup namin together especially na iba na ang situation. At siguro hindi lang right project, maski ipilit mo kung hindi mangyayari ay hindi mangyayari," she added.
While she admitted that Padilla was her first love, she said she has moved on and is happy with their friendship.
"Alam naman ng lahat 'yon, never kong itinago 'yon. Pero hindi ko inaano sa kanya 'yon. Even though he hurt me before, kinalimutan ko na 'yon, the was the past. Kaya ang friendship namin ngayon ay okay kasi kung nagtanim ako ng sama ng loob, siguro hindi kami magkakaroon ng pelikula niyan," she said.
Morales went on to say that she is thankful to Padilla's wife, Mariel Rodriguez, who asked the action star to get her as his leading lady.
"Thankful ako that I'm one of the choices at ako ang napili. Actually sila lahat from the staff at nagtatanong-tanong sila kung gusto ba na magkaroon kami ng movie ulit ni Robin na matagal na namang nire-request ng tao. I always believe na there's always a right project and a right time. So ito nangyari na, right project and right time," she said.
In "Bonifacio", Morales plays the role of Gregoria de Jesus, the wife of Andres Bonifacio (Padilla).
The singer-actress was first taken by Padilla's charms when they starred in "Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum" in 1991. The team-up became a hit among fans, such that a sequel to to the action film was released a year later.
Before "Bonifacio", Padilla and Morales were also featured in a special episode of the drama anthology "Maalaala Mo Kaya" in 2011.

“Kaming dalawa ni Ali (her boyfriend) magkasama, nag-test kaming dalawa. We are happy kasi it was planned and it’s not a surprise. First test namin, morning 'yun. Akala namin negative pa so na-sad kami. Nung gabi nag-test ulit kami, positive na. After that, ang inuna namin 'yung family namin. They were happy and excited,” she said.
