Phillip Salvador in shouting match with foreigner

Actor Phillip Salvador had a heated confrontation with a Norwegian national at a mall restaurant on Monday, after the foreigner reportedly humiliated a waitress by calling her "stupid."
The incident took place at the SM Megamall branch of Italian restaurant Sbarro at around 1 p.m., according to a report published on entertainment news site PEP on Tuesday.
Salvador confirmed a source's account of the confrontation, claiming that the foreigner called the Filipino staff of Sbarro "stupid" and a "bunch of idiots."
The actor said he was with his wife, Emma Ledesma, when he heard the Norwegian national complaining about the spaghetti he had ordered. Salvador described the man as 6-foot-3 and in his mid-40s.
According to Salvador, he could not not help but confront the foreigner when he kept shouting at the waitress, who was already crying.
"Who the f*ck are you?" Salvador, in his interview with PEP, quoted the Norwegian as saying. He replied: "I'm the f*cker who's going to beat your ass if you don't apologize to them."
When the foreigner threatened to call the police, Salvador said, "Hurry up! Please tell them to be here in five minutes, and I will tell them to throw you out of this place!"
"You don't insult the Filipinos. Let's get out of this place, I'm going to fight you. You only know how to scream at girls!"
Salvador said he does not mind if a video of the confrontation is uploaded online, when told of the source's account that a bystander recorded the shouting match on his cellphone.
The actor added that even if the staff had committed a mistake, this does not give the Norwegian a right to insult and berate them.
The management of Sbarro has yet to issue a statement on the incident.

Meg Imperial is the new White Castle Girl.
The 21-year-old actress on Friday had a photo shoot for the whisky brand's 2015 calendar in Lipa, Batangas. Like past models before her, Imperial had on a red bikini as she posed with a white horse.

Imperial is the latest in a long line of White Castle Girls, which have been introduced annually since 1974. Past models include Roxanne Guinoo, RR Enriquez, Glydel Mercado, Angela Velez, Cristina Gonzales, and Lorna Tolentino.
One of the most memorable White Castle Girls, actress Carmi Martin, played Imperial's grandmother in the recently concluded series "Moon of Desire."
"Thankful ako, kasi, siyempre ang dami nang dumaan sa White Castle," Imperial said. "To think, marami namang mapagpipilian tapos ikaw 'yung napili."
She added: "I-re-recreate ko 'yung [campaign] na 30 years nang ginagawa. Sobrang nakakatuwa na ako ang gagawa. I hope hindi sila ma-disappoint!"

Korina angers netizens over Typhoon Ruby comments

Veteran anchor Korina Sanchez hopes the typhoon hits Japan instead of the Philippines because the Japanese can handle it better

Just a year later, broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez again finds herself in the spotlight after making another controversial comment in relation to a typhoon about to hit the country.
On the Wednesday, December 3, newscast of ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol, the network's chief correspondent and veteran anchor said she hoped Typhoon Ruby (international name Hagupit) would hit Japan instead of the Philippines, and that Filipinos could still pray the typhoon away.
In a clip posted on YouTube by user Danny Luke, Sanchez is heard conversing with her co-anchors Noli de Castro and Ted Failon, as images of the then coming typhoon were flashed on screen.
The clip starts with Failon saying the next few days are “critical” in determining the path of the typhoon, to which Sanchez reacts, “Kaya pa natin idasal yan para lumihis." (We can still pray it changes direction.)
De Castro then remarks, “Sana ay hati na lang tayo." (I wish we could split [the typhoon’s impact.])
Kalahati sa Pilipinas, kalahati sa Japan (Half to the Philippines, half to Japan),” De Castro said, to which Sanchez responded, “Puwede bang sa kanila na lang lahat?" (Can’t they just get all of it?)
De Castro said hopefully not, but Sanchez pressed on, saying, “Sa kanila na lang lahat. Parang mas kaya nila." (Let them have it all. It seems they can handle it better).
Netizens' reactions
Her comments angered netizens.
In a response to a post by Chismobiz on the story, netizen Raul de Vera Jr said, “No one has the right to wish ill of another...no matter how better or worse the situation it. Such an attitude can only attribute to the most ill-educated persons humanity can contribute to any given society.”
He added, “Sad they had a strong influence on the many. Even as a jest, such stupid words should not have been uttered out in the open. How sad.” His comment received 115 likes.
Another netizen, Val Pinlac, commented, “Very irresponsible, unreflective, insensitive...Korina seems to be very consistent on these! But she lasted this long in the industry??? Is this not indicative of the kind or quality of the Philippine journalism? Does ABSCBN have any standard? Very unprofessional and unethical!”
Meanwhile, on the YouTube post of the clip, user BJhun defended Sanchez, saying, “Grabe naman kayo guys mkapang husga, tao lang din naman si Korina. Maybe concern lang sya sa Pilipinas nang nasabi nya yan, in a wrong way nga lang.”
(Why judge so intensely, Korina is only human. Maybe she was just concerned about the Philippines which is why she said it, just in a wrong way.)
Pasko guys. God bless us all :)”
(Let’s just forgive her, the world isn’t going to end anyway. Instead of judging and getting irritated, let’s just pray for the country’s safety. Gosh guys, so many people need help. Prayer is the only thing we can afford. Do we have to pour our hatred over this issue? It’s Christmas guys. God bless us all.)
Not the first time
This is not the first time Sanchez has found herself in hot water over comments she made on air. In November of last year, the Internet blew up after Sanchez said CNN’s Anderson Cooper didn’t know what he was talking about, in reference to Cooper’s criticism of the government's response to Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name Haiyan).
Cooper was on the ground in Leyte when he reported on the shortcomings of local relief efforts, while Sanchez was reporting from the studio in Manila.
Apart from being one of the country's top anchors, Sanchez is also the wife of Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, the presumed standard-bearer of the ruling Liberal Party in the 2016 presidential polls. Roxas and officials of the Department of the Interior and Local Government were in Tacloban, one of the areas hardest hit by the typhoon, to supervise government response when Sanchez made the comments last year. Roxas was heavily criticized for what many perceived was subpar work in handling the impact of the Super Typhoon.
This year, Roxas is again in Eastern Samar where Ruby first hit land. Typhoon Ruby made landfall in Borongan, Eastern Samar Saturday evening, December 6, and is expected to leave the country on Wednesday, December 10. It packed maximum sustained winds of 195 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 230 km/h.

Why Kim, Xian haven't taken relationship to next level

Building a strong foundation was the reason Xian Lim gave when asked why he and Kim Chiu haven’t taken their friendship to the next level despite being vocal that they consider each other special.
Speaking on “Kris TV” on Wednesday, Lim said they want to strengthen their friendship first before deciding to enter into a relationship.
“Gusto namin very solid yung foundation. If you guys know each other well, nothing can go wrong,” he said.
Chiu, on the other hand, said she is not closing her heart to Lim, adding that she is grateful to the actor for always having her back.
The two, however, became evasive when asked by host Kris Aquino if they have already said “I love you” to each other or whether they have any terms of endearment.
Instead of answering the question, Lim changed the topic and shared one special thing he did for Chiu.
“Jino-joke ko kasi siya sabi ko, ‘Balang araw magkakaroon din ako ng sports car. Maisasakay din kita sa sports car.’ This was back in ‘Binondo Girl,’” he said.
Sharing that he just used to ride with Chiu’s car, Lim said: “Sabi ko dati, ‘Balang araw, isasakay din kita… ipagda-drive kita.’
Until the day came, Chiu related, when Lim surprised her by picking her up at her magazine pictorial in a sports car.
Meanwhile, both Kapamilya stars shared that they are both friends with their exes.
Chiu’s only former boyfriend was actor Gerald Anderson while Lim decided not to elaborate further about his past.

Sarah Geronimo was recently featured in an English news publication in Dubai where she recently staged her “Perfect 10” concert.
In an interview with Gulf News, "The Voice of the Philippines" coach talked about her 10-year journey in show business.
“Just like the title of my recent album, ‘Perfectly Imperfect,’ I can say that my 10 years in showbiz were made perfect because of all the imperfections in my life, in my career, in all aspects of my life,” she said.
“Everything happens for a reason — all the ups and downs became a part of how I’m molded to become a better person now. The learning will continue — the trials and the challenges,” she added.
Throughout her career, Geronimo said she has her manager and her parents to thank for.
“Definitely I’m giving the credit to my manager. He is the star maker. He is the real genius when it comes to making or molding stars. And of course to my parents. They will always remind me of humility, of looking back to where you came from, the people who were there from the very beginning,” she said.
While she is now known to be one of the most successful stars of her generation, Geronimo said it has always been her mindset to never be complacent.
"You should never be complacent. Yes, you are Sarah Geronimo but there will be a new breed of artists that are also great, beautiful and much more deserving of the spot in the limelight that you have now. It’s how you can sustain it. The sustaining power in the business is the most difficult and challenging part,” she said.
Geronimo is currently in the United Arab Emirates for her “Perfect 10” concert tour.

Daniel speaks up about viral 'kissing photos' with Kathryn

Daniel Padilla has finally spoken up about viral photos supposedly showing him and on-screen partner, Kathryn Bernardo, kissing at an airport.
The young actor, dubbed as the country’s Teen King, was asked about the photos after a press conference held last week for their upcoming movie.

The supposed "kissing photos" made the rounds last week on the micro-blogging site Twitter. At the time, Bernardo and Padilla had just finished the four-stop "One Magical Night" tour in Canada with fellow Star Magic artists Kim Chiu, John Lapus and Marcelito Pomoy.
One of the photos shows Padilla holding Bernardo's neck with both hands. The actress' back was to the camera, obstructing her and Padilla's faces.
Although admitting that he is aware of the said photos, Padilla vehemently denied that he was kissing Bernardo in the said pictures.
“Lagi ko namang ginagawa sa kanya yung [pinipisil] ko yung mukha niya. Hindi [ko siya kini-kiss],” he said.
Padilla further added that he is not allowed to kiss Bernardo. “Diyos ko naman. Bawal yun dito,” he said.
Last Tuesday, Bernardo also denied that she and Padilla were kissing in the said photos.
"Mahilig kasi si DJ ganyanin (squeeze) 'yung mukha ko, eh," she said. "Inaasar niya kasi 'yung cheeks ko! May mga tao kasi na nandoon na, na naghatid sa amin sa airport. Makikita mo na 'yung ibang fans, nandoon sila, so nag-picture sila."
"Siguro noong ginagano'n 'yung face ko, nasakto na parang na-block 'yung face ko. So pag titignan mo sa picture, parang nag-ki-kiss," Bernardo explained.
Bernardo said she does not have any problems with Padilla being “clingy” because they are very comfortable with each other.
