Emotional Pastillas Girl mourns death of mom

Richard Parajinog comforts Angelica “Pastillas Girl” Yap, whose mother passed away on Sunday.

Angelica Yap, more known as “Pastillas Girl,” had to rush home from a music video shoot in Bulacan when she learned that her mother had been shot by an unknown gunman in Caloocan City, Sunday night.
Yap’s mother, Teresa, sustained a gunshot wound in the back of the head which caused her death.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News early Monday morning, an emotional Yap said she received a call from one of her relatives informing her about what happened.
Dumiretso na ako dito,” she said.
Yap said her mother was still alive when she reached the hospital and she was still able to talk to her.
“Brain dead lang pero humihinga pa. Kinausap ko siya. Nagre-respond pa siya. 'Yung mga heavy breathing niya, alam ko naririnig niya ako,” she said.
Back in September, Yap’s mother appeared on “It’s Showtime” to defend her daughter against bashers. Wala akong masasabi.”
As of writing, police officials and investigators are still gathering information about the incident. Residents were helping the police and barangay officials in their probe.
The wake of Yap’s mother will be at their residence in Caloocan City.

Meryll Soriano is pretty much used to seeing actors go to extremes in order to portray a particular movie role.

However, when John Lloyd Cruz had to shave his head for their movie Conman: Honor Thy Father, she admits that although they were laughing about it at first, everyone held their breaths when the moment of truth came.

In Conman: Honor Thy Father, one of the eight official entries to the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), Meryll Soriano and John Lloyd play a married couple who resort to desperates measures.

Meryll’s character is accused of swindling money from churchgoers who invested in a get-rich-quick scheme.

John Lloyd had to shave his head in one of the key scenes of this crime drama.

This is not the first time Meryll and John Lloyd are working together. “We worked together in Betty La Fea before…but now, everybody got to see his transformation. Every time we do a scene, I’m very impressed. He’s so humble. We collaborate: ’Anong gagawin natin? Takot ka ba sa eksena ito?’” she says about her co-star.

In Conman, John Lloyd's character resorts to his shady past as an acetylene gang member in order to raise millions of pesos needed in order to ensure the safety of his family.

Their respective portrayals are something to watch for in this movie.

“It’s so substantial, and not fake. Hindi kailangang magpaganda o magpaguwapo. It’s different altogether for him, and I’m very happy to have witnessed that and to be part of that,” ends Meryll.
