Emotional Pastillas Girl mourns death of mom

Richard Parajinog comforts Angelica “Pastillas Girl” Yap, whose mother passed away on Sunday.

Angelica Yap, more known as “Pastillas Girl,” had to rush home from a music video shoot in Bulacan when she learned that her mother had been shot by an unknown gunman in Caloocan City, Sunday night.
Yap’s mother, Teresa, sustained a gunshot wound in the back of the head which caused her death.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News early Monday morning, an emotional Yap said she received a call from one of her relatives informing her about what happened.
Dumiretso na ako dito,” she said.
Yap said her mother was still alive when she reached the hospital and she was still able to talk to her.
“Brain dead lang pero humihinga pa. Kinausap ko siya. Nagre-respond pa siya. 'Yung mga heavy breathing niya, alam ko naririnig niya ako,” she said.
Back in September, Yap’s mother appeared on “It’s Showtime” to defend her daughter against bashers. Wala akong masasabi.”
As of writing, police officials and investigators are still gathering information about the incident. Residents were helping the police and barangay officials in their probe.
The wake of Yap’s mother will be at their residence in Caloocan City.

What happened when John Lloyd Cruz shaved his head for Conman: Honor Thy Father?

In Conman: Honor Thy Father, Meryll Soriano is cast as the wife of John Lloyd Cruz. They resort to desperate measures when they need to raise millions of pesos in order to ensure the safety of their family.

Meryll Soriano is pretty much used to seeing actors go to extremes in order to portray a particular movie role.

However, when John Lloyd Cruz had to shave his head for their movie Conman: Honor Thy Father, she admits that although they were laughing about it at first, everyone held their breaths when the moment of truth came.

In Conman: Honor Thy Father, one of the eight official entries to the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), Meryll Soriano and John Lloyd play a married couple who resort to desperates measures.

Meryll’s character is accused of swindling money from churchgoers who invested in a get-rich-quick scheme.

John Lloyd had to shave his head in one of the key scenes of this crime drama.

This is not the first time Meryll and John Lloyd are working together. “We worked together in Betty La Fea before…but now, everybody got to see his transformation. Every time we do a scene, I’m very impressed. He’s so humble. We collaborate: ’Anong gagawin natin? Takot ka ba sa eksena ito?’” she says about her co-star.

In Conman, John Lloyd's character resorts to his shady past as an acetylene gang member in order to raise millions of pesos needed in order to ensure the safety of his family.

Their respective portrayals are something to watch for in this movie.

“It’s so substantial, and not fake. Hindi kailangang magpaganda o magpaguwapo. It’s different altogether for him, and I’m very happy to have witnessed that and to be part of that,” ends Meryll.

VIRAL: WATCH DRUNK BARON GEISLER CRIES DISCRIMINATION IN PAMPANGA BAR

Following the circulation of Facebook videos showing a confrontation between actor Baron Geisler and a bouncer at a bar in Pampanga, the actor’s camp on Thursday claimed that he suffered discrimination when he was denied admission without a “single justifiable reason.”
In a press statement, Geisler’s management said the bar was considering the actor’s “obvious past issues” when its bouncer barred him from entering the venue in Angeles City.
“Baron may have overreacted due to frustration but had reason and was well within his rights to question and demand explanation from the manager or somebody who had authority, why he was being denied admission into a public place that offers entertainment and serves alcoholic beverages,” the statement read. A seven-minute video was uploaded by a certain Mojahid Abdulmoume, which showed Geisler and the bouncer in the middle of a commotion as the actor insisted to enter the bar. The conversation between the two was inaudible, but foul words and threats can be heard on the background.
In the caption, the uploader said Geisler was not allowed to enter because he was drunk.
“We do not know of any bar that discriminates against incoming patrons whether they appear inebriated or not. We can only conclude that this is a result of the stigma caused by similar incidents involving Mr. Geisler in the past,” the actor’s camp said.
The same Facebook user uploaded a shorter second video with a length of one minute and 30 seconds, which showed a more violent Geisler cursing and seemingly provoking the bouncer to fight with him.
Geisler’s management said the incident hurt the feelings of the actor, claiming that it brought up past issues.
“Nevertheless, a place for entertainment open to the public, locals and foreigners alike, cannot single out any individual purely because of the stigma of his past, unaccompanied by any illegal act, untoward incident, violation of law, ordinance and rules of the establishment,” the statement added.
The actor’s camp also appealed to the public to “be more discerning before judging anyone.”
“Despite the commotion outside the bar, we are thankful that Baron had the right mind to walk away in the end from the said incident,” Geisler’s management said.
As of writing the first video has garnered more than 23,000 views, while the second one has more than 590,000 views. Yuji Vincent Gonzales/ TVJ

FHM wants pregnant Marian to join 'sexiest' bash?

It's been done before, notably by Hollywood actress Demi Moore, who agreed to pose in the nude even while she was pregnant.

But Marian Rivera is not likely to follow suit.

On Wednesday, the expectant mom said she has already decided not to join year's FHM party even if she tops the men's magazine poll of sexiest women.

Aside from her condition, Rivera said she is also thinking of her husband, actor Dingdong Dantes.

So huwag na muna," Rivera said at a press conference for this year's PEP List.

Rivera and Dantes were hailed the Pepsters' Choice for Newsmaker of the Year.

Rivera admitted that a lot of things have changed after she got married last December.

Madami akong nakilala madami akong natutunan. Diyan ko nakilala ang asawa ko. Pero, at the end of the day, ang importante sa akin ay nagkaroon ako ng pamilya at bubuuin ko pa siya at gusto ko madaming anak. 'Yun ang pangarap ko. Madaming adjustment kasi marami kang kailangang i-sacrifice eh," added Rivera, who recently also gave up her role in a TV series.

Rivera also said Dantes is fully supportive of her decision to put her her showbiz career on hold.

"Naku baka umiyak pa ako," she said, as she recalled their conversation on the topic.

Rivera and Dantes are set to find out the gender of their baby next week.

Asked if they would allow their child to be a celebrity baby, Rivera said: "Naku huwag na muna mag-aral na muna siya.

Malay mo, doktor ang gusto niya," she continued.

"So hintayin ang paglaki niya.

Mariel Rodriguez suffers Miscarriage

TV Host Mariel Rodriguez has suffered a miscarriage, the manager of her husband Robin Padilla confirmed on Monday to ABS-CBN News.
Betchay Vidanes made the confirmation two days after the 30-year-old Rodriguez posted on Instagram cryptic messages about "a turbulent phase in my life."

In a post dated March 14, which shows her apparently crying while inside a car, Rodriguez said: "Not all days are happy... some days are sad. #byecutiepie"
Another photo showed two hands clasped -- presumably Rodriguez's and Padilla's -- and was captioned: "Having a sad day doesn't mean its the end of the world.
"Sh*t really does happen but today I felt so much love from my family and concerned friends. I am grateful because I am not alone during this turbulent phase in my life I have my sister, my stepdaughters, my friends and my husband. One day the sun will shine again. #byecutiepie"
Rodriguez, who was eight weeks and three days pregnant when the baby stopped developing, would have given birth some time in October 2015.
Padilla, in a statement relayed by Vidanes to ABS-CBN News, said Rodriguez would rather wait to naturally bleed than go to a clinic.
The 45-year-old action star said: "Ayaw na bumalik ni Mariel sa Asian [Hospital] ngayon.
Using the same hashtag, Vidanes condoled with the couple on her own Instagram page, saying: "To the amazing, brave and beautiful [Rodriguez] and my dear friend [Padilla], I am broken-hearted by the news of the loss of your unborn angel.
"But your faith and love for each other will prevail and God's grace will shine on. Each new life, no matter how brief, forever changes the world."

READ: Alex Gonzaga to conquer big dome

Alex Gonzaga has made it to the growing list of actors-turned-recording artists that have been given the opportunity to hold a huge concert.
The 27-year-old, who recently released her debut single titled “Panaginip Lang,” is all set to star in her first solo concert billed “AG From the East: The Unexpected Concert,” on April 25 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
While she finds the idea of headlining a big show at such a historic venue intimidating, Alex promises to give her all to make it worthwhile for all involved.
“Kinakabahan po talaga ako pero (it helps) na ’yung mga taong kasama mo very positive, so you just hope for the (best). I believe it’s meant to be,” Alex told members of the media during a press conference.
On her own, she started doing vocal exercises and avoided taking dairy products, cold water and sweets. She also began doing cardio routines to help with her endurance for the big day. She is set to undergo proper voice training and dance workshops.
Alex said the show’s production numbers and gimmicks will definitely surprise her fans. She believes the opening and closing performances might even raise the eyebrows of a few showbiz and government personalities.
Without giving a hint, Alex explained, “Ang ending po namin talaga at opening ay very different in that never in the history of concert-making na nagawa ito, nag-research kami.”
Alex refused to disclose additional details about the show, save for the fact that it will have a love advice portion midway through.
The author of the bestselling book on love advice titled “Dear Alex, Break na kami. Paano?!
She assured concertgoers of all  ages will enjoy the show that will showcase her many talents.
Two of her guests in the show are actress-dancer Maja Salvador and, of course, her older sister Toni Gonzaga.
In terms of sisterly support, Alex shared with humor, “Days ago, pinagagalitan niya ako kasi nakahilata ako pag-uwi niya sa house from taping.
Alex appreciates Toni’s concern for her career the same manner that she appreciates concert producer Joed Serrano’s trust in her ability.
On speculations that she will soon usurp Toni’s throne in the biz, Alex said, “Hindi naman po.
Since her return to ABS-CBN in 2013, Alex has been getting jobs left and right. She became co-host of  the reality-based competition “The Voice of the Philippines,” scored a lead role via the remake of Koreanovela “Pure Love,” and is currently part of gag show “Banana Split” and Sunday variety show “ASAP 20.”
More, Alex will star as lead in the upcoming ABS-CBN primetime teleserye “Inday Bote.”
Asked if she thinks jumping from hosting and acting, to recording and now headlining a concert is a bit too much too soon, Alex replied, “What is too soon? If it’s not now then when is (the right time)? It’s (starring in a concert) now or never, take it or leave it.”
Alex could only be thankful for all the opportunities given her and will give her best all the way. (With report from)

Is Rayver Cruz dating Julia Barretto?

Actor-dancer Rayver Cruz finally spoke up on persistent reports that he is dating teen actress Julia Barretto.
In an interview after the finale press conference for the hit series "Two Wives," Cruz stressed that he and Barretto are just good friends.
"Walang real score.

The actor also made an appeal to stop romantically linking him to Barretto.
The actor, however, admitted he really finds Barretto beautiful.
"I find her very attractive.

Erich Gonzales getting Death threats?

MANILA -- Actress Erich Gonzales admitted that she has been receiving threats since she started appearing as Janine in ABS-CBN's hit series "Two Wives," which is now down to its last three weeks.
Siguro maraming na-Janine sa real life, maraming nakaka-relate.
Pero siyempre it's my job na maging makatotohanan yung role ko," she added.
The actress said she is happy that viewers appreciate her performance in the soap, especially since it was her first time to do a "bida-kontrabida" role.
Mahirap gawin," she said.
"Two Wives" airs weeknights after "Forevermore."

WATCH: Dingdong vows to give his life to Marian

Dingdong Dantes vows to give his life to Marian Rivera in a video of their wedding day released on New Year's Eve.
The couple of over five years tied the knot in a ceremony widely publicized as a "royal wedding" last December 30 at the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral in Quezon City.

The nearly six-minute video by Mayad Studios shows scenes from the preparations, the ceremony proper, and the reception that followed at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Parts of Dantes and Rivera's vows are heard as key moments from the ceremony are shown, including the actress' walk to the altar, their first kiss as a married couple, and their exit from the church.
"In this new lifetime that we will have, I now can see clearly the ending that I've always imagined," Dantes is heard saying. "What matters most is the journey on how to get there. For as long as I'm with you, it does not matter where. I can jump off any cliff, not matter how high, as long as I know you are there, holding my hand."
Dantes vowed: "Above all the things that mean the world to me, I give you one thing no other can -- my life. Marian, while only death can do us part, I pray to the very God that put us together that you and I should never part, in this lifetime or the next."
