The 23-year-old runner-up in the Mutya ng South Cotabato in 2010 was with her friend at the Second Falls of the tourist spot when a rock the size of a person’s fist fell on her head. She was rushed to the nearest hospital but she was declared dead.

In a report from ABS-CBN News, what happened to Ayana Grico was the first incident ever since, according to Seven Falls Project Manager Rayyen Dongon.
Ayana Cgrico’s uncle, Rogie Navarro expressed his dismay after what happened to his niece blaming the management of the Lake Sebu for lacking precautionary measures in the area where the tragic incident took place.
South Cotabato Governor Daisy Fuentes explained that the place where Ayana Grico and her friend went to is no longer part of the trail for tourists.
“Iyong lugar naman, hindi considered danger area, although it’s not part of our trail, kasi lumagpas sila doon sa may hand railings,” Fuentes said.
Ayana Grico, who hails from Surallah, South Coatabato graduated with a degree in mass Communications at the Notre Dame of Dadiangas in Genereal Santos City, according to InterAksyon.
The beauty queen was on vacation from her job as a DJ in General Santos City when the incident happened and her remains is now at the Apal Villanueva in the town of Surallah.
The South Cotabato Governor Daisy Fuentes promised that government assistance will be given to the family of Ayana Grico.
After the incident, management of the Seventh Falls temporarily closed Falls 2.
