Jessy Mendiola has moved on after her admirers Jake Cuenca and Sam Milby stopped pursuing her.“Desisyon na rin naman nila iyon na sabihin sa mga tao yung ligawan. Hindi ko na rin kasi hawak iyon. Nangyari na rin yung nangyari na nagsabi na nangligaw sila, they like someone,” Jessy said at the press conference of the Korean Tourism Organization (KTO), which introduced her as honorary ambassador of Korean tourism.
‘It didn’t work out’
Jessy has accepted the fact that things did not work out between her and Jake, who is now in a relationship with Fil-Aussie model Chanel Olive Thomas.
“Siguro it just didn’t work out. Ganoon lang kasimple. There are things that work out, there are things that don’t work out. So I guess andoon tayo sa hindi nag-work out.”
Jessy shared that she still talks to Jake and Sam when they bump into each other in ABS-CBN shows.
“Jake is very happy sa love life niya. Sam is okay. Nakakasama ko naman sila sa shows,” she said.
New friend
Jessy may still be single, but that doesn’t mean the 21-year-old actress is feeling low, In fact, Jessy feels happy to have met a new friend, 19-year-old Colombian tourist Sebastian Lopez, during a recent vacation in Boracay.
“Ngayon lang ako nakakita ng mga tao na kapag nagkikwento tungkol sa isang tao, masaya. So siguro nagugulat sila sa akin. Ako rin nagugulat sa sarili ko kasi kakakilala ko lang sa kanya pero somehow, I’m willing to get to know him more.”
While she is not yet ready to enter into a relationship, Jessy is enjoying her friendship with Sebastian. She shared that Sebastian followed her to Jeju Island in South Korea, where she was doing her duties as honorary ambassador for Korean Tourism.
“Napapasaya niya ako, pati mga kasama ko. Pati handler ko natuwa sa kanya, pati yung isa naming kasama sa KTO natuwa rin. Kaya parang nakakatuwa lang. Imagine hindi ko kasi inakala na pupuntahan niya ako sa Jeju. So, effort iyon.”
No courtship – for now
She’s still getting to know more about Sebastian, who is now back in Colombia.
“Wala pa naman doon (sa ligawan). Kasi hindi ko pa naman siya sobrang matagal na kilala. But it feels like we’ve known him for a while kasi nga he’s very open. This is a classic case of someone being really nice.”
Does she see herself and Sebastian becoming a couple someday?
“Siguro doon muna ako sa feeling na masaya. Hopia (hopeful) muna,” Jessy replied.
