MANILA – “American Idol” season 13 finalist Malaya Watson, who has Filipino roots, got to perform the popular hit “All of Me” with its original singer John Legend.
During the finale of the hit talent show on Wednesday night (Thursday morning in Manila), Legend started his live performance with “You and I.”The American singer-songwriter then introduced Watson before playing the first notes of "All of Me" on the piano.
Aside from Legend, also performing at the “Idol” finale were Demi Lovato, Jennifer Nettles, Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips, Paramore, Darius Rucker and Lady Antebellum.
At the end of the finale, it was Caleb Johnson from North Carolina who was crowned the newest American Idol. Jena Irene from Michigan ended her “Idol” journey as this season’s runner up.
After the competition, the Top 10 finalists of the show are set be on the road for a series of shows for the summer “Idol” tour.
