International singer and Youtube sensation Charice Pempengco is the latest addition to the list of performers for Yolanda (Haiyan)  benefit concert dubbed as “After the Storm” in US on June 15, 2014.

Toni Award-winning Broadway singer Lea Salonga and the Filipino-American member of Blacked Eye Peas apl.de.ap will be joining the show also which be held at the Kennedy Center of the Performing arts in Washington D.C.

Jose Cuisa Jr., Philippine ambassador to Washington are encouraging the public to buy tickets since it would be a great help to survivors of Typhoon Haiyan, which devastated the Visayas region on November 8, 2013.
“We are delighted that the concert will be graced by such big talents. I am encouraging everyone to buy their tickets as soon as possible..By purchasing a ticket, you will be helping rebuild the devastation that occurred in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan,” he said on a statement posted on Philippine Embassy website.
Filipino-American fashion designer Josie Natori, founder of Natori Company was also announced to be in the show and she will be one of the presenters in the concert.
The benefit concert is made possible with the cooperation of Philippine Embassy, US-Philippine Society and Philippine Humanitarian Coalition.
“After the Storm” will be directed by Bayork Lee, a Broadway Legend and it will be produced by Robert Pullen, an Emmy-nominated producer.
Other talents who are set to perform are:
  • actor Lou Diamond Phillips
  • ballet dancer Christine Rocas
  • tenor Rodell Rosel
  • Glee star Darren Criss
  • violinist Joshua Bell.
