MANILA - "Mirabella," ABS-CBN's primetime series starring Julia Barretto, marked a ratings milestone on Thursday as it made a sharp turn with the titular character vowing revenge on those who have wronged her.

The fantaserye posted a nationwide rating of 22.6% on May 22, according to Kantar Media. Its rival show on GMA-7, meanwhile, only registered 13.9% on the same day.
This is the highest-ever rating of "Mirabella" since it debuted last March 24. The soap had an average audience share of 18.2% for the month of April.
The spike in its viewership on Thursday came as Barretto's character, Mira, finally confronted her nemeses Iris (Mika dela Cruz) and Olive (Mylene Dizon), who have maltreated and ridiculed her for her wood-like complexion.
The episode unfolds with Mira promising to avenge her and her parents as her beautiful alter ego, Bella.
"Mirabella," which is under the direction of Jojo Saguin, Jerome Pobocan, and Erick Salud, airs weeknights after "Meteor Garden."
