MANILA - GlobalPort cager Terrence Romeo has finally gone on record to clarify his rumored ties with comedian Vice Ganda, who recently confirmed that he has broken up with his mystery boyfriend.
Romeo has been linked to the "It's Showtime" co-host since his stint in the UAAP as a player for the Far Eastern University Tamaraws, which Vice Ganda has been vocal of supporting as an alumnus of the school.
Vice Ganda first hinted about the end of his relationship last May 9 through a series of posts on Twitter. "It is over," he said in one tweet.
Another tweet read, "i TRied but im TiRed. time To Rest." This had fans of the comedian speculating on the apparent hints in the capitalization of the letters, with a number asking if the initials "TR" pertained to Romeo.

It is over.
Ayoko na ng alon. Gusto ko ng umahon.
i TRied but im TiRed. time To Rest.
Fresh start. Start fresh.

In a live interview on "The Buzz" last May 18, Vice Ganda confirmed that he and his boyfriend, who he has known for five years, have indeed separated. The comedian, however, still did not divulge the identity of his former partner.
In the weeks following Vice Ganda's first tweet about the breakup, a Facebook post from an account named "Terrence Bill Romeo" addressed the issue.
Speaking to Spin.ph's Snow Badua on Friday, Romeo denied that the Facebook account is his, but added that what the post said is true.

Romeo lamented that the rumor has long affected his image, and that he wants it to be put to rest. He also asked fans of Vice Ganda to stop spreading rumors about him.
Romeo's father speaks up
Meanwhile, Romeo's father, William, came to the defense of his son following allegations that he supposedly received expensive gifts from Vice Ganda, including a condominium unit and a car.
"Walang katotohanan 'yun," he told Spin.ph.
The older Romeo said he had been wanting to speak with Vice Ganda, but decided against it upon the urging of his wife. Wala lang akong pagkakataon," he said.
Romeo's father added that he believes the 21-year-old cager when he says he never had a relationship with Vice Ganda.
When asked for his message for Vice Ganda, Romeo only said: "Wala, wala. Ayoko na ng pinag-uusapan pa 'yun. Baka pag nag-message pa ako, pangit naman. Wala naman akong sasabihin [sa kanya]."
